Victor Sozio is one of the Founding Partners of Ariel Property Advisors. Mr. Sozio’s primary responsibility is to originate and execute the sale of commercial real estate transactions throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Mr. Sozio plays a pivotal role at the company, balancing his management responsibilities as a partner overseeing internal strategic initiatives with his consistent top investment sales performance. Impressively, he is one of New York City’s leading commercial real estate advisors, arranging the sale of more than 1,000 properties valued at over $5.2 billion during his career.

Mr. Sozio has maintained a heavy presence in the multifamily market with experience selling both individual buildings and multi property portfolios. He has developed a comprehensive understanding of properties subject to various city, state and federal regulatory agreements, including rent stabilization, Section 8 vouchers, HUD agreements and LIHTC. Since Ariel was established, he has been one of the most active brokers of affordable housing transactions in New York City, arranging the sale and putting into contract over 300 affordable buildings, with 14,000 units, totaling over 13.8 million SF and valued at more than $2.73 billion. His expertise extends to the sale of development sites and commercial and retail assets throughout New York City as well.

Internally at Ariel Property Advisors, Mr. Sozio spearheads the majority of the institutional transactions and plays a crucial role in all levels of client management. He is a sought after resource by all team members at Ariel and uses his acute market knowledge to specifically assist the investment research team in improving the accuracy of the company’s data.

Mr. Sozio’s institutional transactions contributed to Ariel Property Advisors being named one of Globest/Real Estate Forum’s Multifamily Influencers for 2022. In March 2018, Connect Media named Mr. Sozio one of New York City’s Top 10 Brokers. In 2013 and 2014, Real Estate Forum named him and his partners as Top New York Brokers, as well as recognizing him as one of Tomorrow’s Leaders: New York. In 2012, The Commercial Observer named Mr. Sozio as one of the 20 to Watch, which recognizes emerging commercial real estate professionals.

Mr. Sozio began his real estate career at Massey Knakal Realty Services, now Cushman & Wakefield. He is a graduate of Manhattan College, where he received a B.S. with a concentration in marketing. He also is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He lives in Westchester with his wife and two sons.
