Tim Anderson is the CEO and Founder of Focus where he has provided strategic leadership for the company since 1993. As an industry visionary dedicated to quality design and craftsmanship, Tim started Focus with the goal to create a different kind of development company. His vision, built on a commitment to creative design and construction expertise, also emphasizes the importance of company culture and the professional growth of all team members through collaboration and effective communication.

Focus, a Chicago based real estate firm, operates an integrated delivery model for development and construction and specializes in mixed-use multifamily, office and student housing. In the last 30 years, Focus has delivered distinctive developments in the Chicago market valued at over $2.4 billion. Experienced in both suburban and urban settings, Tim established Focus on the principal that the unique needs of each community should drive the design and development of its real estate, respecting the context and culture that was there before we arrived.

Tim currently resides in Evanston but was born and raised in Connecticut. He moved to Illinois to attend college at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. He currently serves on the board of the Lou Malnati’s Cancer Benefit and volunteers with RISE International. Prior to founding Focus, Tim worked as an Executive Vice President at Optima and as a Senior Associate at the architectural firm of Fujikawa Johnson  and Associates.
