Steve Witten is Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Aimco. He has over forty years’ experience in the multifamily industry; including twenty with Marcus & Millichap where he was Executive Director and original founding member of the Institutional Property Advisors (IPA) group. Steve has closed more than $12 billion in major multifamily sales throughout the country with a focus on the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern States.

Steve was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut; graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1972 and received a master’s degree in behavioral psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. He was considered one of the top Institutional multifamily brokers in the country: Steve “set the standard for professionalism and integrity in the multifamily industry”.

Steve completed the CCIM program in 1984 and speaks regularly throughout the United States on apartment building evaluation, state of the investment property market, real estate investment strategies and annual state of the apartment markets. He is considered one of the nation’s foremost authorities on apartment evaluation, marketing and brokerage and his writing is published in many national, trade and business publications.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Steve’s primary focus is to oversee Aimco’s planned increase in its multifamily portfolio in the tri-counties of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade.
