Shahab is a member of the Mazars USA LLP Executive Committee, and leads the Real Estate Practice of Mazars, both in the US and internationally. He serves SEC registered real estate investment advisors, real estate private equity funds, institutional investors, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), residential and commercial builders, owners, and managers, and shopping center and hotel developers and operators.
Shahab has extensive experience with real estate investment companies and in fair value measurement of real estate across all property types. Shahab consults regularly on financial reporting matters to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He frequently applies agreed-upon procedures to validate the financial track record of real estate operators and developers and consults on evaluating provisions of partnership operating agreements to provide assurance on applicability of profit allocations and cash flow distributions. He has experience in litigation support services and has consulted with clients across several industries regarding business valuations, loss profit calculations, fraud investigation, and other forensic accounting matters. His expertise includes due diligence review related to mergers and acquisitions of real estate businesses, as well as, consulting with clients on operational and internal control matters.
Shahab graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
