Scott Burman is a highly accomplished real estate developer with over two decades of experience in the New York metropolitan area. He is the Principal of Burman Real Estate Development (BRE), a company he founded in 2023 to focus on commercial, residential, and healthcare properties. Since its inception, BRE has acquired and is developing a significant portfolio of properties across the region.

Scott was a partner at Engel Burman since 2001, where he gained vast extensive experience in all facets of the real estate industry. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in the company’s growth and expansion into various sectors, including assisted living, senior lifestyle communities, and residential development. His expertise includes negotiating property acquisitions, dispositions, and leases; structuring complex development deals; securing financing; and obtaining land use approvals and entitlements. He also served as President of Engel Burman Construction for a decade, leading a team of over 100 construction professionals and managing nearly $400 million in annual construction activity.

Scott is a respected leader in the industry and an active member of his community. He chairs the Board of Trustees at the Long Island Children’s Museum and serves on the board of the Stony Brook College of Business Real Estate Institute and the LIPA/PSEG Community Advisory
Board. He is also a past President of the Long Island Real Estate Group and a board member and Forum Officer for the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

A recipient of the Long Island Business News’ 2010 “Rising Star in Commercial Development” award and a member of their “40 under 40” class of 2011, Scott has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence in the real estate industry. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Finance and Marketing from the New York University Stern School of Business.

A resident of Suffolk County, New York, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and dogs. He is an avid skier and outdoor enthusiast with a passion for the mountains. He is also a former endurance athlete with over 100 multi-sport and endurance racing events to his credit.
