Sally Gilliland, Chief Operating Officer, is an expert in housing design across many platforms both market rate and affordable. She brings her passion for the field and her vision for creating the best possible homes for all people to all projects. A central focus of her work is improving the livability and architectural character of New York City, which is where most of her work has been concentrated. She manages the architecture and engineering process throughout the design and construction of our projects, as well as participating in the management of the company since she became a Principal in 2015.

Sally joined Hudson in 2001 after working as Project Architect at the architectural firm of Beyhan Karahan & Associates where she was responsible for design and management of a wide range of commercial and residential buildings. Prior to her work with BK&A, Sally was a designer with the architectural firm of Kohn, Pedersen, Fox & Associates and was a partner in Gilliland Lawler Architects

Sally graduated from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, studied at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in New York City, and received a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. She became a licensed architect in 1992. She serves on the board of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council and is a member of the AIA.
