Saleem is President of Odyssey Residential Holdings, LP’s corporate general partner, and an officer of certain of its affiliated development, asset and property management entities and general partnerships. He has over 30 years of experience in commercial and institutional real estate development, acquisitions, financing, asset and property management, and M&A. Additionally, Saleem has experience in private equity, technology venture capital, and capital markets. Saleem has completed hundreds of acquisitions, dispositions, financings and asset management and technology ventures totaling over $6 billion; and acquired, disposed and financed in excess of 60,000 apartment units. Previously, he served as EVP of Acquisitions, Dispositions and Asset Management for American Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE) and Southmark Funding/Southmark Corporation (NYSE; 30,000 employees); and held management positions with Xerox Corporation, Arthur Andersen & Co., and VMS Realty Partners. He has a BS in Industrial Management/Computer Sciences summa cum laude and MBA in Finance/Economics from the Stuart School of Management & Finance, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. Saleem is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the North Texas Housing Coalition; the Texas Association of Affordable Housing, the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), The World Affairs Council, and the National Apartment Association; and has been a speaker at numerous industry conferences and roundtables. He holds a Second-Degree Black Belt in a combination of mixed martial arts.
