Ryan Querubin is the Director of Real Estate Development at Innovative Housing Opportunities (IHO), with more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and finance roles. In his current role, Ryan evaluates, underwrites, and sources new ground-up affordable development projects in both Southern and Northern California markets. He also oversees project management staff for all aspects of the full-development cycle, including underwriting and financing of proposed ground-up affordable developments.

Throughout his career, Ryan has demonstrated a proven track record of success in all aspects of real estate development, acquisition, and financing. He has held various positions in the industry, including Senior Acquisition Manager, Associate Director of Development, and Vice President for leading real estate developers such as BRIDGE Housing, CCH Senior Housing, Fairfield Residential, and Equity Residential, among others. He started his career as a broker working on commercial real estate sales and leasing transactions and then transitioned to research and analysis before moving into debt and equity financing and market rate development. During the past decade, he has shifted his focus to providing high-quality affordable housing to low-income families and seniors. Ryan is passionate about delivering much-needed housing to California and has made it his mission to provide affordable housing options to those in need.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Business Administration, Real Estate, from Georgia State University, Atlanta, and a Master of Business Administration, Finance, from Georgia Southwestern State University, Americus. He also holds a Master in Real Estate Development from University of Arizona, Tucson, and a Master of Urban Planning from San Jose State University. He also received a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, is a CCIM Designee, and a licensed Broker in the State of California.

What is an affordable housing developer’s role in society?
I believe an affordable housing developer’s main role is to act as the “quarterback” on proposed affordable housing projects and bring together the various stakeholders necessary to move the projects forward.
