Mike DeRouin is President of FitzGerald and brings more than 25 years of experience creating design solutions for developers, tenants, and builders. Mike has guided a broad range of project teams in the design of complex, mixed-use buildings that accommodate commercial office tenants; affordable and market-rate multifamily residences at every scale; neighborhood and big box retail; and parking uses. He also has considerable experience converting existing obsolete buildings to new commercial and residential uses. He has successfully led projects in excess of $2.7 billion in construction cost that generated over $400 billion in value.

Mike works from a foundation of both aesthetic architecture and engineering training. He is committed to designing constructible and sustainable buildings and communities that improve the lives of those that work, live and play in them. Mike is a professional problem solver and offers himself as a consultant and mentor both in and out of the workplace. His counsel is well-regarded with his successful group of mentees, and his technical knowledge in matters of local, regional, and national standards make him an invaluable resource to clients, consultants, and design teams.
