Michael Tillman is the Chief Executive Officer and a Co-Founder of PTM Partners, LLC (“PTM”), a real estate investment and development platform based in Miami. PTM focuses on investing and developing in communities that foster interconnectivity and celebrate diversity and believes that real estate development that is well located and community-oriented will generate substantial value. With these core principles, PTM has launched one of the largest institutional Qualified Opportunity Zone (“QOZ”) platforms in the country. Focused on sustainable development that is not only financially profitable but also that improves the way people live, work and interact, PTM has raised and invested more than $350mm in QOZ equity for investment in accessible multifamily and mixed-use developments with over $2.5bn in active developments/investments. PTM is a thought leader and first-mover in multifamily development, and is currently rolling out a special situations platform and workforce housing platform to further its mission.

Previously, Michael was a Managing Director at LeFrak and oversaw the acquisitions and development businesses in the Southeast U.S. Since establishing the Southeast U.S. development platform in 2010, LeFrak invested and committed more than $4 billion in real estate investment to the market. Michael led the, underwriting, execution, construction, development and condo sales at the 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach, a 1.8 million square foot, $650 million mixed-use condo-hotel project. Michael also restructured and oversaw the development of SoLe Mia, the largest mixed-use development in South Florida. The $4 billion master development in Miami sits on 184 acres and is entitled for more than 5,000 residential units and 1.5 million square feet of commercial space.

Prior to joining LeFrak, Michael worked at Aetos Capital where he was a senior member of the firm’s investment platform in China. In that role, he evaluated nearly $5 billion in multifamily residential, office, retail and hotel developments. Michael was also responsible for expanding the firm’s investment footprint by evaluating real estate-related equity and distressed debt opportunities in the United States, Brazil and India. Michael was also one of the founding members of Aetos Capital Management, a $500 million long/short hedge fund investing primarily in listed real estate and real estate-related securities across Asia. Prior to joining Aetos Capital, Michael spent two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in New York.

Michael sits on the executive advisory board of the University of Miami’s Real Estate Development and Urbanism program, where he also serves as a guest lecturer on Real Estate Development, Real Estate Finance and Sustainable Development Practices. He is also a member of YPO Fort Lauderdale. Michael graduated from Emory University with a degree in Business and Spanish and received his MBA with honors from Columbia University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
