Matthew Vekasy
Founder & CEO
Metropolitan Holdings

As Founder & CEO of Metropolitan Holdings, Matt is responsible for the Company vision and culture, creative problem solving and deal structure, and securing equity capital. Matt started his career in 1996 with national developer Casto Communities and participated in the development and construction of approximately 3,000 new apartments in several communities. Two years later, with $1,500, he founded Metropolitan Holdings and built his first two-family property in the Grandview area of Columbus. Over the next few years, the Company developed a number of additional projects ranging from 2-32 units. In those early years, Matt single handedly ran all aspects of the business, including preparing architectural and engineering plans, securing financing, completing re-zonings, and running the construction as a project manager. Matt’s mother, Prindall Martz, was the Company’s property manager. As a result of the success in the area, he was able to secure a joint venture to develop Grandview Village, a 168-unit infill project that has been the catalyst to the Company’s growth. Since the completion of his first project, Matt has gone forward to successfully develop over $125M worth of multifamily assets within Columbus and Dayton.
