Matt Vekasy
Founder & CEO
Metropolitan Holdings
As Founder & CEO of Metropolitan Holdings, Matt is responsible for the Company vision and culture, deal structure, and securing equity capital. Matt started his career in 1996 with national developer Casto Communities and participated in the development and construction of approximately 3,000 new apartments in several communities. Two years later, with $1,500, he founded Metropolitan Holdings and built his first two-family property in the Grandview area of Columbus. Over the next few years, the Company developed several additional projects ranging from 2-32 units. In those early years, Matt single handedly ran all aspects of the business, including preparing architectural and engineering plans, securing financing, completing re-zonings, and running the construction as a project manager. Matt’s mother, Prindall Martz, was the Company’s first property manager. As a result of the success in the area, he was able to secure a joint venture to develop Grandview Village, a 168-unit infill project that has been the catalyst to the Company’s growth. Since the completion of his first project, the company has gone forward to successfully develop a number of multifamily assets within Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton markets with ongoing plans for future projects within a three and a half hour radius of our home office in Columbus.
