Matt is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the upper Midwest markets, including Chicago, Minneapolis and Des Moines. His primary responsibilities include guiding the operating strategy and growth plans across the geography and the pursuit and execution of real estate development opportunities across these markets.

Matt has 13 years of real estate and development experience across many different product types including office, industrial, multifamily, senior living, retail and institutional. Since joining Opus, Matt has overseen the development of more than 3,000 residential units, 2 million-square-feet of industrial projects and 300,000-square-feet of retail.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Business Administration in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin. He previously worked with Habitat for Humanity building affordable housing in South Minneapolis. Matt is a member of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association; University of St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business Strategic Board of Advisors; Minneapolis Downtown Council’s Board of Directors; and Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors.
