Marie Murphy is the Founder and CEO of MJD Development where she oversees Investment Management and overall Operations. MJD’s focus is Value Add Commercial Real Estate Repositionings in California and Nevada. MJD owns and operates Boatworks at Tahoe, a mixed-use retail, office, and hospitality assemblage and is entitling the site as a catalyst redevelopment project in Tahoe City, CA. Marie approaches running an investment platform and vertically integrated operating company with a unique mindset and perspective. As a woman, a mother, and a self-made entrepreneur, there is no one more passionate about sourcing and executing deals. This passion for the deal is felt deeply by all those involved and differentiates not only Marie but the entire team at MJD.

Marie has built an impressive and successful track record in Commercial Real Estate. With over 35 full-cycle deals in Work Force Multi-Family Housing, she has MJD poised to grow into a national institutional platform. Marie is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States. Marie holds a B.A. from Santa Clara University and a Master’s from St. Mary’s College. Marie has two daughters and lives in the Bay Area. Marie is an avid outdoors-woman who loves to scuba, ski, flyfish, and is currently working on her boating captain’s license.
