As President of Steiner NYC, the real estate development arm of Steiner Studios, Juliet Cullen-Cheung oversees real estate development and residential property management for the firm’s NYC portfolio. Steiner Studios is the 50-acre film and television production facility in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Leading a team of professionals and consultants, she manages the acquisition, design, financing, and development of residential, commercial, industrial, and film/tv studio projects. Notable completed projects include: Hub, a 750-unit 55 story tower with 150 affordable apartments; the first Wegmans anchored shopping center in NYC; and the Steiner East Village condominium.
Prior to joining Steiner in 2006, Juliet worked with the City of New York’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development for five years in affordable housing finance and redevelopment, creating and implementing new programs and incentives.
Juliet holds an MS in Urban Planning from Columbia University, where she also studied architecture, and a BA in Visual Art and Anthropology from the University of Chicago. A resident of Brooklyn since 2004, Juliet served as a member of Brooklyn’s Community Board 2 from 2014-2021 and as the Chair of its Transportation and Public Safety Committee. Other civic commitments include serving of the boards of local BIDs, condominiums, and her children’s charter schools.
