Julie M. Gravallese is vice president, workplace innovation. In this role, she oversees corporate real estate, lab services, and the execution of MITRE’s innovation hub (iHub) strategy, where she leads efforts to develop new and existing iHubs. She also manages the organization’s lab facilities to ensure advancement of MITRE’s world-class capabilities and deliver workplaces that emphasize collaboration and wellness, providing a great experience for employees at all locations.

Gravallese has filled a number of strategic and operational roles within MITRE. She most recently served as vice president, integration and operations, for MITRE Labs, and before that as vice president, programs and technology integration. Previously, Gravallese served as vice president and chief human resources officer, where she led HR strategic planning and direction for MITRE employees worldwide.

Gravallese has a reputation as a strong leader and manager. She has a distinguished track record of innovative leadership, characterized by highly effective communications skills, a focus on building partnerships, and strategic analysis and critical thinking. She also brings detailed knowledge of MITRE’s business and sponsors, and the operations of numerous corporate organizations.

In 2016, Gravallese became the first recipient of the annual ExecutiveBiz Top Human Resources Executive Award for her outstanding leadership, vision, innovation, and achievement within the government contracting world.

She is involved in a variety of academic, industry, and government forums and has taught enterprise computing, IT strategies, data analytics, and cloud technologies at the graduate level. Gravallese is an active member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the National Defense Industrial Association, and the Society of Women Engineers.

Gravallese holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Virginia, with a focus on systems engineering and enterprise systems.
