John has dedicated the last 44 years to growing Midwood, a company founded by his grandfather in 1925. Over that time, Midwood has expanded its portfolio to 130 properties in 9 states.

Further, he built a management, investment, and development platform to acquire, operate, reposition, and develop new and existing assets. John’s philanthropic interests are primarily focused in education and the arts.

John is currently a Board President of the Usdan Center, Board member of UJA Federation, a member of The Hastings Center Board of Directors and chair of Hastings Capital Campaign. John also serves on the corporate board of Merchants National Properties.

Previously, John was a Trustee of The Brooklyn Academy of Music, chair of BAM’s Strategic Planning Committee, Trustee Emeritus of Wesleyan University, past chair of Wesleyan’s Capital Campaign, and chair of the Finance Committee. John also served as a Board Chair of the Brandeis International Business School, as a Trustee of Brandeis, and served as Board President of Bronx House.
