Joanne Wright is Senior Vice President, Transformation and Operations, IBM.
In this role, Joanne leads the company’s operations, procurement, Chief Information Office, and Chief Data Office organizations. She is focused on transforming IBM’s operations, in part by infusing capabilities such as automation and intelligent workflows across the company to help boost productivity and ensure IBM better serves its clients and partners.
In her almost 25-year career at IBM, Joanne has held key leadership roles across procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, real estate, client support, and operations. She has led the redesign of IBM’s operating model, quote-to-cash process and helped make IBM client zero for its automation and advanced analytics technology. In addition, as Chief Operating Officer of IBM Supply Chain, Joanne led the introduction of artificial intelligence technology for a transparent, intelligent, and predictive supply chain.
Joanne is committed to accelerating IBM’s digital transformation through global talent development and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. She is also a champion for empowering women leaders and expanding allyship.
Joanne received the Female Executive of the Year, Stevie Award, in 2022 and 2019, and is a two-time recipient of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next-Gen Award. She is a member of the Board of the United Way of Putnam & Westchester in New York and serves on the board of Supply Chain Leaders in Action.
Joanne holds a bachelor’s degree from Glasgow Caledonian University. She’s an avid tennis, swimming and cooking fan, and in her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her teenage twins and is an active member of the Parent Teacher Organization.
