Jason Ormsby
President
Stonewall Associates

Jason B. Ormsby exudes the fighting spirit and determination that’s characteristic of the United States Marines. And that’s not surprising, given that this Marine veteran was on active duty for six years. The core values of the Marine Corps – honor, courage, and commitment – continue to guide Jason today and define his business and leadership style.

Adhering to these values has served Jason well, evidenced by his delivery of no less than 20% IRR to partners. The success of Stonewall Associates is fueled largely by his belief that he and the team be onsite, rather than making decisions behind a desk. Jason’s leadership has been tested and proven through real-world operational experience. He has managed a complex and diverse portfolio of more than 6,500 units comprised of class B, C and D properties, ranging in size from 92 to 940 units. Additionally, he’s managed various sizes of rehab construction projects, some with crews of more than 100 and multimillion-dollar budgets.

In addition to standard purchases, Jason’s well-versed in acquiring commercial real estate assets via loan purchases and foreclosure auctions, as well as assets in receivership and bankruptcy. He has dealt directly with municipalities, having played the lead role in obtaining a $10 million rehabilitation grant from the City of Houston, as well as orchestrating the dismissal of a property code-based lawsuit by the City of Dallas. A Steering Committee member of the Better Government Fund Committee within the Houston Apartment Association, Jason holds the National Apartment Association designations of Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor and Certified Apartment Manager.

Jason graduated with honors from BYU-Hawaii with a B.S. in Accounting. He earned a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and is a licensed Texas attorney. On active-duty 2000-2006, he was deployed to the Horn of Africa, the Persian Gulf, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He takes pride in his active involvement with veterans causes both the local and national level.

A native Houstonian, Jason has three children and loves the outdoors. He was a Captain of both the All-Marine and All-Armed Services rugby programs and currently practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
