In his two-plus decades actively developing in the South Florida market, Hernandez has distinguished himself as a forward-thinking, innovative and fearless developer who plays a pivotal role in the continued evolution of Miami’s skyline. He pushes boundaries when it comes to project design elements, luxury finishes, amenities, branding and technology.

Hernandez cut his teeth in real estate during the 1990s as a hands-on investor in the Miami market. Inspired by the city’s tremendous capacity for change and progress, he moved on to large-scale real estate developments with a focus on high-end residential projects. Hernandez was the first to develop a luxury condo high-rise with robotic parking; the first to build a condo tower with no parking at all; and a pioneer in the development of projects specifically designed for home sharing and flexible ownership. He successfully expanded Newgard’s reach beyond South Florida, including the recently completed Natiivo Austin project in Texas.

In 2018, Newgard’s Gale Residences Fort Lauderdale Beach was an Honoree for a South Florida Business Journal Structures Award in the category of Best Market-Rate Residential Project. Newgard’s newest development in Miami’s famed Brickell district, the 44-story Lofty, is setting a new market standard by fusing 5-star hospitality services and home sharing with luxurious interior design, finishes and amenities.
