Ellen Kackmann joined the Albanese Organization in 2018 as Vice President of Affordable & Workforce Housing. Ms. Kackmann received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany, a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Chicago, an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and was a Fulbright Scholar in Finland, where she researched housing policy. Before joining the Albanese Organization, she was Vice President of Real Estate and Asset Management for Comunilife, a developer of affordable and supportive housing. Prior to that, Ms. Kackmann worked for The Doe Fund, where she was the director of affordable housing and responsible for the financial structuring of real estate development, as well as oversight of its residential property and asset management. Her responsibilities included performing preliminary screening and feasibility analyses of prospective projects, researching changes in affordable housing legislation and working with local officials, housing agencies and lenders on specific projects. Ms. Kackmann’s professional accomplishments include major responsibilities for developing affordable housing at American Property Financing at Wachovia Multifamily Capital, PNC Multifamily Capital, and the Related Capital Company. She also held several important positions at the NYCHPD, including Director of the Neighborhood Redevelopment and the Neighborhood Homes programs.
