Christopher V. Albanese is President of the Albanese Organization, a full-service real estate development and management firm with over 70 years of experience in residential, commercial office, educational and institutional real estate. The firm was co-founded by Chris’s father Vincent Albanese, and uncle, Anthony Albanese. With offices in Garden City, Long Island and New York City, the firm is dedicated to creating exceptional living and working environments of distinction, quality and architectural merit. Corporate integrity and excellence in both development and community service are core principles that guide Chris and Chairman Russell Albanese in leading their firm.

Albanese Organization has collaborated successfully with both private and public partners to create numerous innovative and transformative developments in New York City, Long Island and the greater New York metropolitan area. For over 20 years, the firm has been recognized as one of the leading developers to advance environmentally efficient and sustainable building practices; its development of the nation’s first two green high-rise residential towers garnered the firm international acclaim.

The company has built and/or renovated over five million square feet of real estate in the New York metropolitan area and has approximately 50 employees. Some recent notable projects include:

• 74 Trinity Place, NYC – a 300,000 square foot, 28-story LEED Gold pending commercial building in Lower Manhattan with over 100,000 square feet of new community space, including classrooms, art studios, a basketball court, a 300 person catering hall, multiple kitchens, café, below grade secure archive vault, data center and office space for 200 employees, gymnasium, parish hall and community outreach offices.

• 512 W22nd Street, NYC – a 175,000 square foot, LEED Gold certified, Class A office building located on the High Line in Manhattan’s West Chelsea neighborhood. The design of this boutique office building features biophilic design principles and outdoor spaces connecting building occupants to the natural landscape of the High Line.

• 50 West Street, NYC – a 500,000 square foot, LEED-NC certified, 64-story market rate residential condominium tower with 191 units in Lower Manhattan.

• 180 Morgan Street, Jersey City, NJ – a 500,000 square foot, 41-story, 482-unit market rate mixed-use residential rental tower that is currently under construction and will also contain a 6,500 square foot theatre.

Affordable Housing

In 2011, Albanese Organization won the Master Developer designation for a $500 million, 40-acre revitalization initiative in Wyandanch, one of Long Island and New York State’s most historically underserved communities. In a model public-private partnership with the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, and New York State, Albanese has successfully completed three (3) tax credit buildings with 301 mixed-income rental units and 35,000 square feet of neighborhood retail and a public park. A fourth building closed on construction financing in March 2020 and is currently in construction. Upon completion, the project will provide 94-units of affordable housing to seniors whose age is 62+.

Albanese is also currently completing site planning efforts for the next phase in Wyandanch. This phase will include approximately 400 additional units of affordable, mixed-income, rental apartments as well as forsale townhomes over the next several years.

Mr. Albanese attended the Bronx High School of Science, received a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University, and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a member of and published in the St. John’s Law Review.
