Annise Maguire joined Ropes & Gray’s real estate group as counsel in 2021, expanding the firm’s environmental, social, governance (ESG) capabilities. Her practice focuses on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and product stewardship liabilities that arise in domestic and international business and real estate transactions, as well as providing guidance to corporate, asset management, real estate and other clients on critical legal, compliance, and business matters tied to ESG factors.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Annise worked as an ESG consultant for a Fortune 500 company. She also brings with her years of experience in private practice gained at both an environmental-boutique law firm and a premier U.S. law firm, where she advised clients on various EHS and sustainability matters, with an emphasis on transactions, regulatory compliance, and litigation.
