Adam is a senior real estate investment professional with over 20 years of industry experience, with a concentration in the multifamily asset class. This includes leadership expertise in capital markets, investment management, fundraising, acquisitions, development and portfolio management.
Adam serves as Director of Capital Markets at Pacific Urban Residential, a national multifamily owner, operator and investment manager. In his role, Adam brings leadership to several key growth initiatives for the firm, including responsibility for the firm’s acquisitions and strategic expansion in Eastern U.S. markets as well as product development and capital markets/ fundraising efforts for Pacific’s expanding investment management platform and strategies.
Adam was formerly a Senior Managing Director with Waypoint Residential, a national, vertically integrated real estate investment manager focused on acquiring and developing market rate, student housing and senior housing properties. Adam was responsible for leading Waypoint’s capital raising efforts as well as expanding its fundraising strategies. During Adam’s tenure, the firm raised $390 million of new equity capital, and closed 28 new acquisition and development transactions, totaling over $1 billion capitalization.
Prior to joining Waypoint, Adam was a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and Divisional Partner at Alliance Residential Company, one of the largest, private multifamily companies in the U.S. At Alliance, Adam led all facets of the company’s development, construction and acquisition activity in the Northeast. He was also responsible for institutional investor fundraising and portfolio management efforts for the firm’s discretionary investment management platform. Prior to Alliance, Mr. Fruitbine was a Managing Director and Partner at The Tuckerman Group, formerly an affiliate of State Street Global Advisors, responsible for sourcing and structuring new transactions nationally, as well as managing institutional investor relationships.
Adam received his B.B.A. in International Business from The George Washington University and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.
Adam is currently the Chair of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Multifamily Gold Product Council, and member/former Finance Chair for the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC). Adam is also a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA).
