Joanna Hunt is a principal with Baker Tilly’s audit practice. She specializes in servicing private equity and real estate clients. With more than 17 years of experience, Joanna has a proven track record in assisting both public and private real estate clients with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) best practices, auditing, internal controls and SEC financial reporting. Leading the New England office’s real estate audit practice, her primary focus areas include private real estate funds, alternative investment funds, income tax basis reporting clients and fund of funds clients. Joanna has extensive experience with commercial, industrial and multifamily real estate funds.

  • Assisted with financial reporting for real estate investment trust (REIT) formation transactions and initial public offerings (IPOs), umbrella partnership real estate investment trust (UPREIT) transactions
  • Assisted clients in adopting and integrating the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF) reporting model, leveraging extensive fair value reporting experience to offer recommendations and benchmarks, ensuring consistency with industry standards
