As Vice President – Technical Services, James is a member of the executive leadership team who shapes, guides, and implements the organization’s technical agenda and advances Marx|Okubo’s core capabilities in architecture, engineering, and construction services.

Most recently, he served as an Assistant Vice President for Marx|Okubo’s Northeast region. Over a nine-year period, James led some of the region’s most complex projects while spearheading initiatives to improve quality and efficiency. He also partnered with the Regional Manager to expand and diversify the services the region performs and the clients the region serves.

Prior experience includes serving as a structural engineer for investigations, repairs, and new construction projects, along with leading a team of structural engineers and special inspectors. James also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army prior to entering the private sector.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master’s degree in
structural engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. James is a licensed engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey as well as a LEED Accredited Professional with the BD+C and O+M specialties.
