Ritesh Patel joined Virtú in 2002 and leads the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio management, and capital deployment. He has directed nearly all acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings since the firm’s inception—over 250 transactions totaling more than $6 billion.

As a key architect of Virtú’s investment and debt strategies for its open- and closed-end funds, he emphasizes risk management and cycle awareness. He has established a rigorous process that integrates research with market dynamics and has executed it consistently across diverse market conditions, shaping Virtú’s track record of disciplined investing and value creation. More recently, this process has evolved to direct the organization of market data sets, assessments of data quality, and the application of data science/AI to further improve and scale Virtú’s investment strategy. His extensive network of industry relationships and ability to structure complex transactions further strengthen the firm’s position to capitalize on opportunities throughout market cycles.

Earlier in his career, Ritesh worked in venture capital with Saffron Hill Ventures and in management consulting with CSC. He holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson, a BS in Industrial Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Management Engineering from Claremont McKenna College.
